Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is an American chef television personality as well as a former teacher in the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef along with being the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, in her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Cook, reveals easy to master techniques as well as her distinctive spiky blond tresses. Chef Burrell has also worked in the top New York restaurants, studied Italian cuisine and the traditions associated with it, and competed in Food Network Iron Chef America. As a child in the Upstate New York area, Chef Burrell developed a passion for cooking and food from a young age. She pursued her love of working in the restaurant business by enrolling in The Culinary Institute of America after obtaining a degree in English and Communication from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. I loved every minute that I was a student at The Culinary Institute of America she says. I could not learn or be a better cook than I did. Chef Burrell following her graduation from the Culinary Institute for Foreigners in Italy completed a one-year stint in Umbria at La Taverna del Lupo and Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, the Michelin-starred restaurant. While in Italy she was able to fully be aware of the history and principles of Italian cuisine and culture which made a lasting impression in her standpoint. Burrell has served on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which brightens the lives of children facing issues and also is a Juvenile diabetes research foundation Celebrity Ambassador, where she promotes juvenile diabetes awareness. In her role as a speaker, Burrell travels across the nation to promote her love for food as well as her career in the culinary field. Anne has stated during her time in the culinary field that she's grateful to have the opportunity to communicate with people what is truly important for her.
