Pollyanna McIntosh

Pollyanna McIntosh was born in Portugal and Colombia But she returned to Scotland when she began her career on stage at The Edinburgh Festival. She relocated to London at the age of 16 and soon began to get involved in independent filmmaking. Her first pay-per-view was as a stoner on Irvine Welsh's The Acid House (1998). She also worked as an actor and director in theatre. In 2004, she relocated to Los Angeles to direct "The Woolgatherer" the play which Anne Dudek (a regular guest on Mad Men (2007)/Big Love (2006)) was directed. It received great reviews. Then she landed her first US film role, playing the manipulative woman who is a new Christian, "Stacy", in Headspace (2005). The role was later recast as "Thumper Wint", a wild, born-again Christian, in Sex and Death 101 (2006) (Simon Baker/Winona Rider), by Heathers (1988). The critics were impressed with her unique combination of powerful sexuality and irreverent humor. Exam (2009) that was the first, in which she was with in London and LA was the next. Awarded a BAFTA nomination for Outstanding British Debut and winner at the Santa Barbara Film Fest of Best Independent, Pollyanna's performance was "smart and sassy in equal parts the emotion center of the movie" and her ability to spot the "emotional vulnerability" of her ambitious and tough character. GQ only stated that Pollyanna McIntosh was a stunning actress , and an "extraordinarily gifted actor". Como Quien No Quiere La Cosa (2013) (As if you Don't Like it! ), is a South American comedy in which she plays the unhappy wife of Trevor Lock, a Brit comedian. Filmed in Peru She speaks Spanish throughout. In Burke and Hare (2010), directed by John Landis, she plays Isla Fisher's best friend along with Simon Pegg, Andy Serkis, Jessica Hynes, Tom Wilkinson and Tim Curry. Her dramatic turn as the lead in Lucky McKee's The Woman (2011) made an impact at Sundance 2011, brought great reviews and took the top spot in the New York Times readers' most viewed films poll. She won three Best Actress nominations, including Total Film’s Frightfest Award as well as Fright Meter's.
