Thora Birch

Thora Birch was born March 11th in 1982. She is an American actor, producer and director. In 1988 she made her feature film debut with Purple People Eater. For this role, she received the Young Artist Award as "Best Young Actress Under nine years of age". Birch became a star as a child star and was featured in films like All I Want for Christmas (1991), Patriot Games (92), Hocus Pocus (93), Monkey Trouble (1994), Now and Then (1995) and Alaska (1996). In 1999 she was nominated for an BAFTA nomination. After that, she starred in Ghost World (2001) as Enid. She was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress. Birch was also nominated for an Emmy Award in 2003 for her performance as the title character in Homeless to Harvard:The Liz Murray Story. Birch also starred on Dungeons & Dragons (2000) (2001), The Hole (2004), Silver City (2004), Dark Corners (2006) and Winter of Frozen Dreams (2009). Birch was also in the role of Whisperer Maryor Gamma in The Walking Dead's season 10. Birch the eldest of Jack Birch's son, was born in Los Angeles. Birch is German-Jewishand has Scandinavian and French-Canadian in her ancestry.  Her name, Thora is derived from that of Norse god of thunder and lightning "Thor", which would be her name should she had been a young boy. She has a younger brother, Kian Bolt Birch.Birch's parents are former adult film actors who appeared in the film Deep Throat. Because of their own experiences in the entertainment business it was difficult for them initially to promote Thora. But, her photo was seen by agents when a babysitter had seen her mimic commercials. Birch received her first major break at four, when the babysitter took her to a successful audition for an Quaker Oats commercial.
