Danielle Riley
Keough is an American actress. [2] She was born in Santa Monica to Danny Keough
and Lisa Marie Presley. She is the granddaughter of Elvis Presley, actress, and
singer. Keough was raised primarily by her father in Hawaii and Los Angeles,
and additionally spent time residing with her mother in California and
Tennessee. When she was 15 she began modeling, with appearances at fashion
shows for Dolce & Gabbana and Christian Dior in addition to being
featured on the cover of Vogue. Keough made her feature film debut when she was
20 years old, appearing in a minor role in the musical biopic The Runaways
(2010), playing Marie Currie. After The Good Doctor (2011) and Jack &
Diane (2012), she appeared in Jack & Diane (2012). Prior to that, she
was cast in Magic Mike (2012), she was a minor character in Steven Soderbergh's
comedy film Magic Mike (2012). Keough appeared in several additional
independent films in 2012 which included Yellow and Kiss of the Damned, before
appearing in the big-budget action feature Mad Max: Fury Road (2015), the
fourth film in the Mad Max series. In 2016, Keough had her breakthrough role as
a law student-turned-escort in the first season of the anthology series The
Girlfriend Experience, executive-produced by Soderbergh and based on his 2009
film of the same name. The show received a lot of praise from critics for her
performance and received a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Performance
by an Actress in a limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television.
Keough's performance in the role of a lost young girl in American Honey (2017)
garnered her even more praise, as well as an Independent Spirit Award
nomination. Keough was the star of the apocalyptic horror film It Comes at Night
(2017). Keough then reunited Soderbergh to appear as Logan Lucky, a heist
movie. In 2018, she appeared in several horror and thriller films, including
Lars von Trier's The House That Jack Built as well as the Neo-Noir Under the
Silver Lake and Hold the Dark. Keough played the role of the lead character in
The Lodge, a psychological horror movie. Zola is Keough's comedy-drama sequel.
Keough portrays the role of Sandy Harrison in Netflix's 2020 release of The
Devil All the Time.
