Denise Richards Bio

Denise Richards was born in Downers Grove, Illinois, the second daughter of Joni Lee, who owned a cafe, and Irv Richards, a phone engineer. Denise is of German French-Canadian, French-Canadian and Irish heritage. Her family was in the Chicago region, but her family relocated to Oceanside, CA when Denise was 15. She started her career as a model, and moved to L.A. after she graduated from high school. She got roles in films and TV, and gave breakthrough performances in Starship Troopers (1997) with Casper Van Dien, Wild Things (1998) and The World Is Not Enough (1999) where she portrays the role of a Bond Girl. She also was in Undercover Brother (2002) with Eddie Griffin and appeared in Scary Movie 3 (2003) with her now ex-husband, Charlie Sheen. She moved from Downer's Grove in Illinois, to Oceanside, California, when she was 15. Irv Richards worked as a telephone engineer, and Joni Richards was his wife. Michelle Richards is her older sister. Her parents own a coffeehouse named "Jitters" located in San Diego. Audition for the role of Beth in Halloween, The Curse of Michael Myers (1995) were held. Mariah O'Brien was awarded the part. Graduated from and attended El Camino High School in Oceanside, California. 1989: Attended Downers Grove North High School in Illinois for her freshman year. She attended Herrick Junior High School until she was in the 8th grade. She was engaged with Charlie Sheen. [January 2002] Rated 9 of the 100 Sexiest Women of the World by FHM Taiwan (2001). Her mother, Joni Richards, died from cancer on November 30 2007.
