21 Savage Bio

21 Savage was born in Newham, England, and grew up on the Eastside Atlanta. He is from a family that has experienced struggle, poverty, crime and violence. These feelings of frustration and anger are expressed in his music. Starting with his debut mixtape The Slaughter Starting with his mixtape debut The Slaughter Tape' released in May of 2015, 21 has created sounds that are somewhere between Atlanta's Trap and Chicago's Drill as a hyper violent reality of Real Atlanta. He has built significant friendships with Super Producers Sonny Digital, Metro Boomin and the newcomer F-12. Sonny Digital collaborated on his follow-up tapeentitled "Free" Guwop EP. This was his attempt to pay homage to East Atlanta's GucciMane. Slaughter King was his third release, and officially put 21 on the list of artists to look out for. XXL has named 21 Savage as a Freshman in 2016 shortly after the album was released. 21 Savage's July release, 'Savage Mode,' which was a collaboration with Metro Boomin, has helped him go mainstream. It earned 11.6kplus in total sales during his first week as an independent artist, being ranked #1 for a full week ahead Schoolboy Q and Logic. The third week of its release, 'Savage Mode' remains at fourth on all of Apple Music (not just hip-hop). Momentum did not increase for the rapper after "Savage Mode," he followed up with 'Issa' and the song 'Without Warning' which he co-wrote featuring Metro Boomin as well as Offset of the Migos. 21 Savage has signed a partnership agreement with Epic Records, which is an official Sony Music Entertainment label.
